Bell Hotel

The Bell Hotel has spacious bedrooms, all en suite, are comfortably furnished with a range of facilities for relaxed modern living. All have views of the River Stour or the ancient streets and rooftops of Sandwich. Betteshanger Park

Betteshanger Park is situated between Deal and Sandwich on the site of the former Betteshanger Colliery.  Activities at the park include walking, cycling, archery and geocaching.  Due to open in 2017 is the Kent Mining Museum housed in a new state-of-the-art Visitor Centre.

Deal Maritime and Local History Museum

Deal Maritime and Local History Museum is a private charitable trust, run by volunteers, and opened in 1972 by Frank Car, formerly Director of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.

Deal Town Council

Formed in 1996, Deal Town Council publishes a Town Guide, maintains a website (www.deal.gov.uk) with pages of local attractions and events; and supports local initiatives via a Deal Tourism Forum which meets quarterly.

Dover District Council

The Tourism Unit comes within the Environment & Corporate Assets division. The unit’s remit is to develop the potential of tourism to provide sustainable economic activity and employment within the District and to market the destination White Cliffs Country.

Dover Eurochange

We are a Bureau de Change and Ferry Ticket Agency specializing in ‘better than Banks’ exchange rates and discounted ferry tickets for the Dover – Calais route.

Dover Greeters

Dover Greeters are  a team of enthusiastic local volunteers who love Dover and showing it off to visitors.  Dover Greeters meet visitors in the town, on the seafront or from cruise ships in the Market Square.  Also run guided Heritage Walks and are happy to assist other organisations by acting as marshals at events.

Dover Guest House Association

The Dover Guest House Association is an Association of quality establishments, brought together with a common goal of providing good quality accommodation to the travelling public, whether on business or pleasure. All establishments provide a warm welcome and clean, comfortable, quality accommodation.

We support wholeheartedly the efforts made by the White Cliffs Country Tourism Alliance and the different Tourism related bodies, including Dover District Council, to increase visitors to the area.

Dover Museum manages three museum sites and attractions in the district. It is responsible for collecting and interpreting the history and natural history of Dover and the Dover District Council area. Since November 1999 it has also housed the Dover Bronze Age Boat Gallery featuring the world’s oldest sea going boat. It provides temporary exhibitions, special events, education services, object enquiries and advises independent museums throughout the district.

Dover Society

The Dover Society is the town’s Civic group with about 450 members. It is affiliated to the Civic Trust and is involved in promoting good town planning. The objectives of the Society are to inform the public in the geography, history, archaeology and architecture of the area.

Dover Town Council was established in May 1996 to provide community representation and local administration for the Town of Dover. It is an entirely separate autonomous unit of Local Government representing a population of just over 28,000 persons and an electorate of 21,000 persons. Through its Councillors, Committee and Officers, the Town Council promotes the cultural, commercial, social and environmental interests of Dover and its townspeople.

Dover Transport Museum

The Museum is now firmly established in its new premises in Willingdon Road, Whitfield.

The best of the old museum has been joined by many new exhibits to create an exciting new attraction in White Cliffs Country.

East Kent Railway Trust

Small heritage railway in Kent countryside.  Visitors can ride the restored heritage trains between Shepherdswell and Eythorne, near Dover, a distance of two miles.  The railway runs most Sundays throughout the year - please check website for timetable. Our cafe and woodland walks are open throughout the year from Tuesday - Sunday.

English Heritage – Kent Sites

English Heritage is a Government body which cares for and maintains over 400 historic properties throughout the country. Walmer Castle and Gardens are situated on the coast South of Deal on the A258.

Built by Henry VIII in 1539, Walmer Castle has been transformed into an elegant stately home. Enjoy a walk through the gardens followed by refreshments in the tea rooms.

Farthingloe B&B

Georgian farmhouse set in 48 acres of grounds in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Rooms all individually decorated in country style, with a comfortable atmosphere and substantial breakfasts.

Goodnestone Park

Goodnestone Park Gardens is now one of the finest gardens in the South East with 14 acres of terraced lawns, woodland and walled garden. There are connections with Jane Austen who visited Goodnestone many times as her brother married a daughter of the house.

Recently an Arboretum of ¾ acres has been planted with rare trees and shrubs.

National Trust

Pines Garden / Pines Tea Room & Museum

The Pines Garden: Open undulating organic 6-acre parkland, trees, shrubs and secluded areas. Rolling paths, lake, grass labyrinth, roundhouse shelter, famous Oscar Nemon statue of Winston Churchill. Ample seating and picnic area. Open all year.

Within the garden is the Pines Calyx, an award winning state of the art eco-venue for conferences and weddings. The Pines Calyx is built of rammed chalk with vaulted Catalan domes covered in grass.

Also on site is a tea room and museum with links to Noel Coward and Ian Fleming. Please ring for opening times.

Port of Dover

The Port of Dover operates Europe’s busiest ferry port, one of Northern Europe’s biggest cruise ports and a 400 berth marina. It is also landlord to a number of seafront properties. The Board, which employs approximately 650 staff, plays an active role in the local economy and the promotion of White Cliffs Country to its markets worldwide.

Sandwich Town Council

The Town Council is a member of the Association in an effort to promote tourism in Sandwich and the district. It manages and co-funds the Tourist Information Centre and maintains Sandwich Guildhall Museum and Archives. It provides tours of the Guildhall and assists with the management of the Pfizer Monks Wall Nature Reserve, Gazen Salts Nature Reserve and the White Mill Folk Museum.
